| History | 2009-07-10 The engine was acquired by David Edgington in the early 1970s as part of the old Petter factory collection. In a sad state of repair, it required a full restoration. This work was done in time to exhibit the Handy Man at the 1000 Engine Rally at Longleat. Subsequently it was loaned back to Petters Limited for use at various trade shows. Following the Lister Petter merger in 1986 the Handy Man ended up at Dursley placed, rather incongruously, alongside Lister built products in the factory museum. The engine also spent time in th US for promotional work. Donated to Internal Fire in 2009 and had her first public outing at the 1000 Engine Raly in Cheshire. |

| Conservation/ Maintenance History | Maintenance 2009-03-18 Initial strip and check showed excessive clearance and some damage in the big end. This was scraped and shimmed. Little end bearing will require replacement and the engine has excessive bore wear. | |
