The block and crank were acquired from The Anson Museum as part of an exchange with the large Hornsby R Type from Dartmoor. Main bearings, big end, flywheels and main bearing caps were missing. Two unmachined main bearing caps came with the engine.
Engine was rebuilt in Power Hall 1 using parts from the National P type oil engine.
|Conservation/ Maintenance History|
The engine was rebuilt and returned to running order in June 2003 using parts from a similar oil engine. Bore wear is excessive and the engine will not run on full compression as piston slap is excessive.
