Haflinger Club Visit

On Sunday morning the lower car park was full of Haflingers on an outing - I think it was their AGM locally?

We were feeling a little miserable at not being able to attend the 1000 Engine so it was a pleasant surprise to be busy early on in the day. A good selection of engines were run until the early afternoon, including the Proteus wearing her new plaque.

Hazel now fancies a Haflinger!

Progress

A lot of general tidying up has taken place over the last few weeks and for the first time in a while the Dog-in-a-Doublet Crossley-Premier was unsheeted. She is barred over regularly but not usually on display. Installation work will start as soon as the 6S37 from Welches Dam is done.

Terry Sanger has a look on the 21st

Hall 7 and the Turbine Shed also had the Hazel treatment and are looking a lot better.

The ex-St Ann's Head Lister FR2 generator is now bolted down and running. Other than needing attention to the water pump she was in good order. John "Shorty" Edwards is coming down in a couple of weeks to plumb her in as the museum standby generator.

The JP4 Lister from Milton Keynes is also installed and running now. Some electrical issues to sort but she starts and runs fine.

The Worthington-Simpson has not been run that often as we still don't have the crank extension fitted. This will go on in the next week - finally!

On the 21st, Julian Graves who removed her at Kew paid us a visit so she had a run in his honour.
