I went to collect yet another Petter-Light set today (yes I am supposed to be reducing but.....:-).
A pleasant drive down to the county of some of my forebears, in fact only a mile from Lands End somewhere I have not been since 1959!
I was surprised to find that its now dual almost all the way, including the old bottleneck at Indian Queens and with no ice and little traffic it was almost a joy.
The set is, apart from the engine, an all original 2 1/2 hp from late 1922. I have a 1922 model engine whose serial is very close to the original so in due course it will emerge looking right. For those interested the dynamo is GEC and the board Crompton.

Roland cornwall seems a good hunting ground for Petters we had our 8S from Hayle.
We've got a little trip planned on Friday to Andover for GMC wheels then to Reading for GMC load bed then to Witney for a cuppa.
Looking at the forcast I hope that they've got it wrong as RWD transit with 20ft of trailer behind and snow definatly dont mix although Lister L in the back should add ballast :-)

Cheers Gary..

Not at present. The switchboard is in the house and the rest well sheeted against the forecast weather.

Gary,

Good luck with your journey, left hotel in Edinburgh this morning at 08:30 and it was raining, within a mile it had started to snow. By the time we had reached the A1, about eight miles it was an inch deep and blizzard conditions, spent the rest of the journey racing ahead of the storm snowing all the way to Peterborough where it turned to rain, arrived home at 15:30 and by 16:00 it was snowing hard. Its stopped now but now we wait for the freeze.
All I have to do now is go back to Edinburgh on Monday for another week. :(

Well we didnt go :( , I got up at seven and there was about 3" of snow and it was snowing like hell "bloody stuff" Looking at the road out front it was white over, every road out of our village has a hill so we decided to postpone the trip till later in the week, probably for the best.

Cheers Gary..

I hope they clear the Roads for Friday, would like to get back to the Lizard for Christmas this year, On Call last year and in a hot and sandy, explosive place the year before.

new roads good aint it! just a Little bit left single carriage way.

I remember 2 or 3 people who had nice petter collections, hope Reggie or Chris still have the Series 1, 1 1/2 hp.

Cheers Steve
