Gentlemen,

The time has come in a mans life when he has to face up to the fact that his only child is finally leaving the nest, she is not going far its just the fact that she is starting out on her own without her parents in the wings :(
My wife thinks she is leaving the country and I'm doing the "at last" bit but I know I'm going to miss her presence.
At least I wont have to play shuffle with the vehicles and there wont be any sarcasm every five minutes and I wont get accused of nicking her oil or screen wash so there is an upside.
I'm not normally a softy but after 30 years I hate change.

Tis strange but come few months time and she comes back for a week or so whilst it's nice you'l both breath a sigh when you get " your" home back just to yourselves again when she goes.

Hi Martin, I know my mother was the same when I eventually left home, but she really likes it when I call in for a chat or when we go round for a meal. Strangely she's not so keen when I turn up with my workshop clothes! Katie won't have them in the washing machine in case they contaminate baby Holly's clothes!

It's strange but you look a lot older than that Martin.
My folks cursed my brother and I when we lived at home. Then we both left at the same time and they found it a real shock going from a house with 2 active lads to just 2 quiet old folks. Dad used to go out to the garage and said it seemed derelict even though a lot of my stuff was still there.
Your wife may miss her more than you will. Please remember that her new place is hers. It will be her rules now and you must respect that.
Your daughter may be leaving but her stuff will clog up your house for years yet so you may still get moaned at for taking her screen wash.

Gentlemen,

I never knew that getting rid of a Daughter could be so knackering, I've been up and down stairs that many times in both houses that I've had enough and I didn't realise that my daughter could keep so much crap in such a small room :D
She has only moved about five miles away but what with moving and fetching furniture from within the county I've managed to clock up 60 miles.
It ain't arf quiet now though, sniff, :D

You may get used to it eventually. With all four of ours gone its a BIG adjustment. Visits are to be treasured.

Eat, drink, and be merry..........
