We purchased this engine a few months ago after seeing pictures of it. Due to its location (a 600mile round trip) and the severe weather we were unable to collect it. Ian kindly collected it for us, a few weeks ago. We met up with him at an open day we attended yesterday, and finally got our hands on the new toy.

Anyone care to guess what it is. (PS those that have seen it and those that I have told about it, please keep quiet).

Its a class 4PV, rated as 3hp @1200rpm. Apparently they only built 80 of them.

Mike,

I take it you have seen the pic in the A to Z as it shows the original mag set up.

Yes I had seen it. I have been in touch with ray Hooley and he has been able to provide me with a diagram of the missing bits. Sadly there are a couple of castings missing as well, so its looking like it will have to stay as it is (for now at least).
