The original holes in the mag bracket are the ones on the edge which correspond with the ears on the BTH mag. As we know (and is common on others) this engine has been restored before and probably had a Wico grafted on then.
I often wonder with these engines just how many mags they went through in their working lives especially if it was down to the owner to supply the mag originally. I know I had one bracket that ressembled a cheese, the number of holes drilled in it!
