Whilst I know that usually is a bit controversial posting live Ebay items, I thought we should bend the rules with regards to item number 260690383730

I have just been reading the information with this listing and must say that I take great offense in the following statement

"None of this information is garunteed to be a definite fact and is only assumed from original literature and observing engines. However it is definitely more accurate than anything featured in the Stationary Engine Magazine or other British publification's. This is because I have found this information through my own research to satisfy myself, as opposed to quickly compiling information to fill a magazine or book for profit"

As somebody who does the occasional article for SEM, I am sorry to say that I do find things like this a tad upsetting.

Mike,

Treat it with the contempt it deserves, he is only doing what you and I would do and that is to compile a list of already known facts from other readily available sources i.e Old Glory and SEM, the only difference is that his greed wants him to make money from it rather than offer it free to other publications to print.
Dont let it worry you its not worth it.

First let me say that this chap has been a complete idiot and what he has written about other publishing sources is attrocious.
Martin not sure your argument about greed really stacks up. Yeah the guy is selling it on ebay and not giving it to a magazine, but some magazines offer money for articles and the publishers make a profit so why souldnt the researcher? Its not as if he's asking thousands either. I know I have spent a small fortune trekking round the country to view engines in my research which is why I'm reluctant to simply hand it over to open access. Ok I willing help genuine enthusiasts that bother to make contact via SEM but when you get people posting on this forum that one minute they want this engine and the next another, I dont tend to take these folk seriously. One day I do hope to update the previous article on these engines but only when I feel I have exhausted all avenues of information. If the chap is genuine and sees this perhaps he would like to come forward and give us his name. At least that would add some credibility to what he wrote about Amancos.

Yes I saw the listing as well but wasn't quite sure exactly what he was trying to prove, having read the disclaimer I would have run a mile rather than purchase anything from him.

I think he was bang out of order, when I checked the listing later that day it looked to me as if it had ended early. So I was hoping someone reported him and ebay decided to pull the listing, either that or he came to his senses and removed it himself.

Cheers, Gerry.
