Gentlemen,

Got up nice and early to do the Bakers, butchers and grocery run, had brekky then loaded the Rover onto the back of my Brothers car transporter trailer, strapped it down and towed it fifteen miles to my Brothers. After backing it over his garage pit we set about measuring and cutting out the rusted through boot floor. After a nicely prepared, by my Brothers wife, lunch break we then set about measuring and cutting the newly acquired boot floor to match the old one, it was then tried for fit, we then cleaned all of the areas that will be welded.
Tomorrow we will start to weld the new floor in place, unfortunately we wont finish as said Brother has to leave at 14:00 to catch an 18:00 flight from Luton to Malpensa in Italy for some product training on equipment I'm already trained on so back next Saturday to Brothers to finish the job.

The reason for the effort is that it was mentioned at the last MOT as an advisory and I want to fit a Tow Bar to tow a small trailer for my wifes Buggy so that she can get about at shows. Wont be pulling big trailer with it, cant afford the petrol :D
Forgot to mention that my Brother builds and races off road trialers for a hobby and has just bought his latest toy,a part built WildCat unfinished project. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bowler_Rally.JPG

Will take pictures of his current vehicle and the kit tomorrow.

Will still be picking up A and delivering the Devil next Sunday.

Dan,

Seeing Numpty1 reminds me I have a trolley handle from him to deliver to you.

Numpty1,

Have you had a chance to deliver pulley yet

Ahh! I had forgotten about that. Thankss! Will be handy as the Blackstone trolley has a mind of its own without it!

I will be around this Sunday afternoon if it is easier?

Cheers,

Dan

Perhaps it was the shock of seeing a Numpty in the flesh (so to speak, before anyone comes up with witty comments!)

Surely Jon will be keeping the counsellor in business re-living that & the p**s taking that went on after the compressor incident.

Gentlemen,

Back to the plot, I spent this morning with my Brother trial fitting the new boot panel and he then tacked it into place with me fire watching and holding the panel from underneath.

The old boot floor removed.

Note the perforations on the bottom edge.

The new floor tacked in place.

This is my Brothers second home designed and built trialer, it has a 2.7 litre Rover V6 fitted to a type 35 BW auto box with his own home built adaptor plate and drive coupling,
the chassis is a shortened and modified Range Rover and under all of the panels is tubular Roll cage/body cage. It is quite capable of running at over 80 mph over rough ground..

this and following pages are his recently, bought but not finished, Wildcat kit. This one has a 3.9 Rover V8 with a more modern Auto box taken from a Discovery, the axles etc are also Disco.
