Well, if you will keep introducing unwanted facial hair you should expect other, more pragtical, folk to use a razor to cut through it.

For Jon's benefit, my addition to Martins text stating 'now Flood' is a reference to my surname and the fact that Tewkesbury (the place) has been under water again. If you have been watching the news this week and can remember back to 2007 and the terrible floods there then the suggestion has been that the place is gaining a reputation. Not surprising really as the wall in the Tudor House Hotel had several markings on the wall, recording each time it had flooded since the 1900's IIRC.

The comments about the room being strewn with papers and photos is the fact that I'm currently in the middle of making up some display boards for Amberley Museum's Engine Day next Sunday which includes a display of Hartop Engines, my pet subject! :D

Hence am I really bothered about if this room exists when I turn the light out!! Sometimes I wish it didn't.

Put 2 and 2 together and it looks like we had may have had a water leak in the house, sorry Martin

Look up Occam's (various spellings) razor and pragmatism.

For all practical purposes it is safe to assume that the world you observe continues to exist and behave in the same way even when you are not looking!

Nick,

Having read Occams Razor my question couldnt be more simpler, close eyes nothing there, open eyes it reappears. When eyes closed how do you know its there.
