Basic inspection performed on arrival, engine in good overall condition with evidence of multiple in service repairs.

HP pressure gauge missing, screws visible on cylinder lagging, IP gauge also missing, again screws show position. No makers plate fitted.

Engine shipped with air pump removed, on installation it was found that two of the studs on the LH link from crosshead to pump were bent. These were removed and straightened before fitting the pump arm.

Main bearing caps lifted and bearings checked, all in good order. All main bearing lubricators fitted but minus wicks and caps.

Stop valve spindle bent in two places, valve stripped and spindle straightened.

HP drain cock seized, stripped and cleaned. Damage present to a number of drain fittings, advice needed from BMS before correcting as at least one replacement required.

Restriction on covers being removed so bores and valves inspected with endoscope, all in excellent order.
