Oil film on water in tank so head/liner pulled. Liner nuts all loose, faces cleaned and re-assembled. Big end shows 0.004" ovality. Checking valve timing showed that the exhaust cam profile has been modified resulting in the opening being reduced by around 45 deg. Cam adjusted on sideshaft to give proper overlap which leaves exhaust opening late but engine running better.
