History Event First production batch engine made in 1928. Note the flat un-cooled cylinder head and water outlet on the side of the cylinder.

This is basically a horizontal AV type cylinder arrangement turned vertical. Note also that there is no sump level indicator pr filler? Not a very successful design.

Sold with a Blackman compressor (on display) to a shop in Halstead. Intended use was for filling bottles with town gas for rural use. Never put into service and remained there until the business closed in the 1990s. Sadly the original gas carburettor is missing.
