Originally installed at St Andrews Hospital, Norwich along with sister engine No 8506. HP bore 10" LP bore 14.5" Stroke 6"
Working rpm 600 producing 90-85 BHP off 140psi with 10psi back pressure

Conservation/ Maintenance History | Installation2017-03-08 Engine installed after long term open storage at Norwich and IF.
Sump full of water and sludge, cleaned and no obvious corrosion. Oil filter cleaned and oil lines blown through.
Engine had been oiled and barred regularly since arriving in Wales.
Cylinder relief valves missing and replacements fabricated using Spirax valves until original type can be found.
Expansion Gear 2017-03-20 At some point in the past the expansion gear had been removed. The complete spindle, crosshead fork, lody and levers were fabricated from photographs supplied by Forncett St Mary Steam Museum.
HP Gland 2017-04-18 HP gland blowing badly, spring rings stuck in both packing boxes. |
