Blocked big end feed caused failure of the bearing which is now being re-metalled.
No damage to the crankshaft and the thrower ring/crank drilling have now been cleaned.
Return To Service
Big-end rebuilt and fitted.
Both main bearings required attention with less than 30% contact on the lower halves and insufficient clearance (1 to 5 thou across the bearing).
Bent decompressor shaft repaired
