In overall poor condition. Seized and with the exhaust broken. Essentially complete but missing magneto.
The engine was recovered from a skip in poor condition. Seized and missing the magneto it has now been passed over to volunteer David Woolley for stripping and inspection with a view to a full restoration.
Work on the engine progressing well and various broken castings including exhaust pot and starting handle bracket now welded. Bores seized but overall the engine appears to be in faair condition.
restoration work completed and engine was ready to run. However, on attempting to turn the engine over on full compression, several teeth on the clutch/starting gear disintegrated. We believe this to be a result of immersion in water of part of the gear for a long period.
The drum has now gone off site to a specialist for repair.
