Cast iron wheels

    Here`s one for you , selling some old bits of junk and amongst it is a pair of cast iron wheels , anyone care to guess what they were from , the interesting thing is that they apear to have tread and a gear drive inside the hub . they are on ebay link below

    Hi everyone,
    it looks like an overrun clutch drum in the centre, so I think a horse drawn, wheel driven mower, poss a Bamlet.

    I agree with John D, my brother has said machine with similar wheels to drive the cutter bar.

    Yes a quick google turns up simular horse drawn mowing machines where the blades where driven by the internal gear , problem solved !!
