After a little up cock on my part, drilled out bolt with thread clearance not tap size, I am now reassembling the magneto and have hit a tiny snag. What thickness of gasket should I use on front of mag as I ruined the old one getting it apart and forgot to measure it before I binned it, I know its critical because it must be correct otherwise you will have to much play in the bearings or not enough.

Unless you can rig up a DTI to measure the end float, it'll be a case of trial and error. IIRC you should have a few thou end float.
You'll also probably need it re-magnetising.

I had better get my finger out then and do what was taught to do many, many years ago. I will allow a few thou. I've even considered a thin smear of silicon sealer to give the gap as long as there is no pre load.
