I have a Petter AV1, but with an indirect injection cylinder head, not the normal one. It runs, but is a pig to start. Does anyone have any idea what the history of this might be, please?

If the injector goes into the head at 90degrees then you have the dreaded Series 1 AV. The combustion-chamber design was borrowed from the Cub and was speedily replaced by the ser2 precisely because of the very poor starting.
That said the Ser1 is much rarer and more collectible.

The injector does indded go in the side of the head, with its axis horizontal. Does anyone have any more information on these things, please?
