I have just bought a Ruston Hornsby 5 HR and I am stripping the fuel pump/governor. I am having problems removing the pump actuating arm, I have removed the pivot shaft but I need to get the whole assembly out as the rollers need freeing off. The only way I can see to get this out is by removing the cam block from the shaft. I have tried as much force as I dare with a puller. Should the cam be heated up to remove it?
My other problem is removing the inlet valve carrier, it is stuck in its bore fast. Have tried as moch force as I dare, any ideas?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Latest news:_
I have now sussed the above and am now looking for an outrigger bearing, the shaft diameter is 3.5" I would much appreciate if anyone can help or point me in the right direction.
Does anyone know if it is possible to mount and run a 5HR on a skid to enable me to put it on a trailer so I can show the engine :?:
