    My Lords,

Which of us is to make the Pilgrimage to the Alter of Fire this coming Saeternesdaeg, I for one will make the journey on Þūnresdæg although long and tiring, who else will take the challenge and come with me.

I should be shifting some lump of Iron (or Aluminium not decided yet...) down the M4, should really check what the bridge toll is!

    Cheers Steve

  3. Bridge tolls cannot be as bad as our Humber bridge, just gone up to £3 per car each way. Trailer are extra. Lorries and coaches are i the £20+ region.

£5.70 westbound, sure beats the drive up to Ross-on-Wye and down

You become a share holder of the bridge with a van and a trailer in tow :(
I'm far enough north to go via the M54.

Did look at the M54, its about another 25 miles but works out 40 mins longer.

I'm sorry, I was watching "Merlin" at the time I typed it and it seemed appropriate :D
You had better get up early as there will be a text sent to your home phone at 06:30 to awaken you

Ah, I did wonder, Martin. I thought you must have been trying herbal cigarettes or summat. :)

I'll look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday morning. :D

Should be there Friday morning, if I can remember the way (not been since new year)

  12. Memory must be going, you were there in June, Astle Park to IF, back home a week later.

Maybe it just seem like it was new year when you went.

You are correct Andy, I can't remember what day it is of late. ( I even have to wear a badge at work to know who I am) I had completely forgotten that I went to IF via an engine collection after Astle. I should have remembered as I am working on that engine at the moment.

Well the way things stand, it dosnt look like im going :( My engines have staged a mutiny and refusing to run or parts have broke (exhaust stud on my Scott SE seems to be holding tight though).....
I could bring my Norman SC down (that needs a rocker cover gasket...) but would feel bad after entering my Scott SE.

See how the next couple of days plan out!

    Cheers Steve

Rocker cover gasket? I didn't think there was one on an SC, the rockers run in oilite bushes so there should be very little oil up there anyway, unless the engine is badly worn and it is blowing the contents of the sump up the pushrod tubes..?

I'm sure you would be welcome at the EOS event with any engine or as a spectator. There will be plenty of people there to help you with the Sattley. :)

The rocker cover on mine screws down to low and rattles of the valves, minor but annoying all the same!

I would love to bring the Sattley, would be ok If I had someone here to help me load and unload, misses isnt quite up to it! no heavy lifting for some reason

The SE will run, seems to be holding ok, just bit worried about knocking it, will see what I load on Friday.

    Cheers Steve

The rocker cover is probably sitting too low because the piece of flat tin that it seal on is bent. Is there a spacer on the long bolt that holds the cover on so that it can't be nipped down too far? Or you could put an extra nut on the bolt on the inside of the cover.

See you there on Saturday with something!
